Five minutes into the second half, Barrowby went 6-1 up when Radford out-paced the Caythorpe defence and squared the ball to an unmarked Wilson who stroked the ball home for his hat trick.

The Villa 1

The damp pitch suited Barkestone and some slick passing saw them grab an early opener when Sam Garner tapped home.

Tom Coleman then latched on to a through-ball to poke it first time past the oncoming keeper.

Powerful centre forward Jo Lee then added a quick-fire double to make it 4-0 at half time. The first saw him bully his way down the left and power it in at the near post. His second again saw him use his strength to find a shooting position before scoring a 25-yard rocket.

The Villa continued to battle hard but knew the damage had been done by a slow start.

Barkestone substitute Sam Shelton scored with practically his first touch as he clipped home a quick free kick from Simon Hollingsworth. Garner doubled his tally with another neat finish after a mix-up in the Villa defence.

Villa did get a consolation goal when Barkestone failed to win a second ball and Connor Cahill planted a beautiful volley past Dave Allen.

Ian Hollingsworth then underlined his quality after coming from the bench with a contrasting brace. He chased a high, hopeful ball and leapt to nod it over the keeper into the unguarded net. The final goal saw him slam home after good work from Michael Hallam, to record another emphatic home victory.

Man of the match was Chris Tonge.
