A derailed freight train in the Nottingham area has delayed passengers travelling through Grantham by up to 90 minutes.
East Midlands Trains says that trains between Nottingham and Skegness are unable to run due to the accident, with bus replacements operating instead.
A spokesperson for EMT said: “Train services through Nottingham are currently being disrupted due to an operating incident involving a freight train in the Nottingham East area.
“Because of this, trains are currently unable to run between Nottingham and Skegness and Nottingham and Lincoln.
“Some East Midlands Trains journeys to and from Nottingham station may be delayed by up to 90 minutes.
“In addition, some trains between London St Pancras International and Nottingham will not run between East Midlands Parkway and Nottingham.
“Trains between Liverpool and Norwich will call additionally at Langley Mill.
“In addition, buses are running between Nottingham and Grantham, Grantham and Skegness, Nottingham and Newark Castle/Lincoln, Nottingham and Derby and also between Nottingham and East Midlands Parkway.
“We would like to apologise to our customers for the inconvenience this will cause.
“As soon as Network Rail advises that services can be resumed we will return to normal service as quickly as possible.”
