More businesses must sign up to the Broadband Means Business campaign to help bring superfast service to Grantham.
The Journal and the team behind the OnLincolnshire project are calling on busineses to register, with a goal of getting 10,000 on board by November. If successful, the county would get a share of a pot of cash worth £57 million to bring in next-generation broadband, giving a minimum of 24Mbps to 90 per cent of the county by 2015.
As part of the campaign, Grantham’s Ramada Hotel will host a free seminar on Tuesday between 8.30am and 11am, where business people can learn more about ‘cloud computing’. Cloud computing is an umbrella term for using the Internet and its potential to help you do business when you’re not at your office PC. The idea is to streamline business practice and provide more flexibility by allowing you to access data.
The seminar is being delivered by the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce and is funded by Lincolnshire County Council’s OnLincolnshire broadband project.
Spaces are allocated on a first come, first served basis and must be booked in advance. To make a booking, either e-mail Charlotte.Baxter@lincs-chamber.co.uk or call 01522 846293.
To join the Broadband Means Business campaign, pick up a form from the Journal office, in High Street, or register online at Grantham Library.
