Graduation at RAF Cranwell

Officer cadets went on parade yesterday (Thursday) at RAF Cranwell, joined by cadets from Ghana Air Force, the Jamaica Defence Force and the Royal Air Force of Oman.

Following a fly past by a Typhoon GR4 aircraft, 55 cadets amrched in front of Air Vice-Marshal Mike Lloyd to mark the graduation of officer training courses.

The Air Vice-Marshal was then invited to present course prizes. The Sword of Honour, awarded to the RAF cadet who, during initial officer training, demonstrated outstanding ability, leadership and other officer qualities, was awarded to officer cadet Miranda Cope. She was also awarded the BAE Systems Trophy for attaining the highest marks for professional studies.

Meanwhile, officer cadet Jemel Sterling, from the Jamaica Defence Force, was presented with the overseas students’ prize and officer cadet Ajvir Sandhu received the Hennessy trophy and Philip Sassoon memorial prize, awarded to the cadet who has proved to be the best all-round.
