A SIMPLE retweet led to a meeting with Dragons’ Den star Theo Paphitis.
Claire Hainstock, owner of children’s entertainment business Acting the Party, was one of six Tweeters to tweet #sbs, a hashtag launched by Dragon Theo that stands for Small Business Sunday.
His followers are asked to tweet about their business and include the hashtag between 5.30pm and 7pm on a Sunday, with six receiving retweets from the businessman himself. This means that Theo’s 230,000 followers read about that business.
Claire said: “At a time when banks are holding back, small businesses have to find new ways to get found and noticed.”
Then all #sbs winners, including Claire, were given the opportunity to meet Theo on March 30 at the Edgebaston Stadium in Birmingham.
The crux of the gathering, told by Theo himself, was to announce that all winners of #sbs would form part of a dedicated website with their own profile, a great springboard for small businesses such as Claire’s.
Claire said: “I could not be more delighted and very honoured to be amongst some really fantastic businesses. The day will be more than a happy memory, although for now I am still buzzing with having been to such a fantastic event.”
