Multi award-winning novelist Sue Moorcroft is to host a fiction writing workshop in Stamford.
The event, How to Write Great Fiction, takes place on Sunday, September 15, at the George Hotel. Sue will share her industry insider knowledge, looking at technique, plot, tricks of the trade and how to approach a publishing house with your completed manuscript.
The writer, whose novels include Is This Love? and Dream A Little Dream, is planning the workshop to appeal both to newcomers and more experienced writers. She said: “With fiction writing, more than anything it’s important to enjoy it. You don’t need to have a creative-writing qualification. Success is more about persistence and self-education.”
A winner of both the Best Romantic Read Award 2011 and the Katie Fforde Bursary award, Sue was first published in 1996, and as well as her novels, Sue has written more than 130 short stories, published in magazines such as Woman’s Weekly, My Weekly and The People’s Friend, and publications in several other countries.
The author of a practical writing ‘how-to’ book, Sue has written in several genres, and teaches at various organisations including the London School of Journalism, for whom she has written courses. Sue is also a monthly columnist and head judge for Writers’ Forum magazine.
The Stamford event is organised by writing specialists WriteStars, and tickets cost £99. To reserve a place, call 020 3078 7825 or email info@writestars.co.uk
