PILFERING alcohol from a Grantham supermarket was the third such conviction in just six months for a Grantham man.
Richard Godson, of Princess Drive, admitted stealing the booze from Asda on January 20.
The court heard how security staff became suspicious of the 60-year-old as he used the self-service check-out accompanied by three underage girls.
Believing him to be buying alcohol for them, they asked that he return the items for a refund. While searching his bag they found he had not paid for alcohol worth £7. Bill Fraser, defending, said the alcohol was not bought for the girls.
Godson was told to pay the court £245.
