Mary Jackson celebrated her 100th birthday on Saturday, at Folkingham Village Hall.
Mary was very proud to have reached the big birthday and celebrated with her close family and friends.
When asked what she thinks the secret is to living to her 100th birthday, she said: ‘’I don’t drink, I don’t smoke and I don’t have any men.’’
She said she has so many happy memories in her 100 years she could not pick just one to report on, adding that she had never known anyone to have lived to be 100 and is very proud that she has reached that rare milestone.
The struggles of aging don’t seem to have affected her too much.
She said: ‘’I can walk, talk and take myself to the toilet. I am very independent.
“The only thing I would like is two new legs!’’
Mary lives in the Five Bells Residential Care Home in Folkingham in her own private residence.
She often has visitors, such as her son, daughter and grandchildren. She said: ‘’I have someone visiting me almost every day.’’
Her positive attitude towards life is inspirational and she is enjoying herself now she has hit that big birthday.
