A Grantham man who has continually failed to carry out his unpaid work was sentenced to a further 25 hours.
Stuart Scrivens of Kinoulton Court had been sentenced to 110 hours of unpaid work for taking a vehicle without consent.
However, since the sentencing Scrivens has failed to attend appointments with the Probation Service.
Mr Patel of the Probation Service said: “The true picture is he has been offered 24 appointments and has not attended any.
“His supervising officer has never met him.”
Stuart Wild, defending Scrivens, said he had come into difficulties with childcare.
He added: “I think he has buried his head in the sand to be honest with the court.”
Scrivens was ordered to pay £75 costs and carry out a further 25 hours of unpaid work.
Chair of magistrates Mr Tollemache told Scrivens he was sentencing him to more hours because: “we do not like it when people bury their heads in the sand”.
