Foul and abusive language landed a 40-year-old man in court.
Lee Rawle of Harrowby Road, Grantham, was witnessed by police officers shouting and swearing outside Your Local Supermarket in London Road.
He was told to calm down but did not. Officers attempted to give Rawle a fixed penalty notice but when he said he could not pay he was charged with being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
Jim Clare, prosecuting, said Rawle lost his temper after he was ejected from the shop for being aggressive and abusive.
Defending himself, Rawle said: “I will admit I was drunk but I was the only person that was assaulted that night.
“I was assaulted by two Turkish people and landed on my head.
“I thought I had been done a wrong turn.”
Rawle admitted the offence. He was given a six-month conditional discharge and told to pay a £15 surcharge. He was spared costs.
