Twelve men and four women represented Grantham Athletic Club in the first North of England League match of the season at Doncaster, and finished in fifth place overall.
The women performed particularly well in the throwing events, taking first and second places in the four competitions.
Under-17 Jake Richardson achieved a personal best time of 4min 29.8sec in the 1500m, and Chris Bainbridge threw a PB 30.28m in the hammer. Josh Brown equalled his best of 1.85m in the high jump.

l Local athletes performed well in Lincolnshire AA and Schools Combined Events Championships at Grantham last weekend.
Phoebe Richards-Cole won the under-13 triathlon, Zoe Lucas the under-17 girls’ heptathlon, and Joshua Brown the under-17 boys’ octathlon.
Josh’s score of 4,863 places himm at the top of the UK rankings, and broke his existing club record by more than 100 points. His javelin throw of 49.80m also set a new club record and he recorded personal bests in the shot and 1500m.
The East Anglian regional finals for schools will be held at Boston on June 22/23, with athletes from eight counties competing.
