The first of 12 guided summer walks in the park around Grimsthorpe Castle takes place on Tuesday, May 21, starting at 7pm.

This leisurely walk, called Walking with Lord Willoughby, will cover a distance of up to three miles and will last around two hours.

Lord Willoughby built his own personal railway line through the park in the 19th century and this walk will take in part of its route. There will be a chance to discover more about his life and the fascinating times in which he lived. A member of the Grimsthorpe Estate team will act as guide.

To take part you will need to book your place via email or phone and purchase an advance ticket (£5.50 adult, £4.50 concession/child). Season tickets are not valid for the walks. A maximum of 16 places are available. Suitable clothing and footwear are required. Dogs (on leads) are welcome on most walks.

To book the walks go to www.grimsthorpe.co.uk
