Grantham Tennis Club junior Thomas White enjoyed a fantastic victory at Boston over the weekend.
Competing in the age 14 and under event, Tom upset the top seed in the first round, and from there he won through to the final where he beat another high ranked player, Sam Felipes, 4-2 2-4 10-6.
The ladies’ short format league saw Grantham travel to Magdala with the team of Pauline Stukins, Sarah Patton, Karen Pye-Smith, Angie Tapson, Jo Carstairs and Jo Jones and came home with the win.
The men’s Lincolnshire Summer League began with Grantham 2nd winning their first match 8-1 against Bourne in Division Two with the team of Toby King, Ed Milner, Josh King, Andrew Isaac, Mark Harris and Karel Meuwissen.
On Sunday, the men’s fourth team hosted Caunton and won their first match of the season 15-3 with the team of David Todd, John Walker, Paul Kennedy, Dale Wright, Mike Roys and Mark Farmer. The men’s first team lost at Louth, the team comprised Richard Cragg, Andrew Isaac, James Drennan and Michael Cragg.
Aspiring coach Richard Cragg passed his Level Two assessment at Derby on Saturday.
