A couple from Colsterworth are dedicated to raising money for Cancer Research UK - and have received a thank you from the charity for their efforts.
In turn, Cilla and Brian Bothamley wish to thank all those who have supported their drive to raise cash.
The couple are regulars at craft fairs in and around Grantham, selling cards, gift boxes, crackers and more made by Cilla, 63.
She said: “I really enjoy it as a hobby and we meet people at the shows. We have quite a laugh with other stallholders and customers.”
Brian, 70, helps Cilla at the shows, in particular by lugging boxes containing her creations.
Cilla said: “A big thank you to everyone that’s bought cards. Ninety-nine per cent of the money came from people in the surrounding villages in the Grantham area.”
To raise money for Cancer Research UK, which has sent the Bothamleys a thank you for donating £572 recently, is important to Cilla as the disease runs in her family. Her grandfather died from cancer and she has cousins who are suffering from it.
The couple will be selling goods at Colsterworth Primary School’s craft event on Saturday, May 11, between 2pm and 4pm. All are welcome to go along.
