Bob Taylor has been licensee of the Dirty Duck - otherwise known as the Rutland Arms - in Woolsthorpe-by-Belvoir for more than four decades and is still enjoying running the famous pub as much as ever.
Bob recalls of those early days: “We were chosen from 54 applicants to run the place and it’s been good. It’s tough at the moment - it’s tough for everyone - but it’s such a nice spot to have, looking out on the canal.”
The Dirty Duck attracts visitors from across the country and over the years Bob has seen generations of the same family make the trip to Woolsthorpe-by-Belvoir. He said: “People come from all over. You get children come and then years later they bring their children. We have had three or four lots of generations coming.”
The Rutland Arms and camp site is destined to be with us for many years to come and will always open its doors to visitors. Bob said: “We always look forward to seeing customers, new and old.”
