A new project in Grantham aims to develop table tennis for females in the area.

Grantham Table Tennis Academy for Primary and Second Schools (GAPS) has launched a project called Girl Power, primary aimed at females between 14 and 25 years of age. As well as newcomers, the scheme also hopes to attract people from all age groups who may have played in the past.

GAPS is working closely with local club Cliffedale Chandlers, with the help of Sportivate funding from the Lincolnshire Sports Partnership.

The project launch event is open to all and will be held in The Meres table tennis centre next Saturday (April 27), between noon and 4pm.

Attendees will be able to watch games, including an international exhibition match at 2.30pm, receive some coaching, play fun games or take on the GAPS robot.

The event is free to visit and everyone attending will have the chance to sign up for six free lessons.

To reserve a seat for the international match or book a place on the robot, call 07860 593102 or email info@gaps-tt-org.uk
