Witham Wheelers junior Harry Brown recorded his first road race victory at Darley Moor on Sunday.
He came out on top in a bunch sprint finish to Matlock CC’s 37-mile event on the Darley Moor circuit.
From the field of 61 riders, Harry prevailed over second-placed veteran track specialist Adrian Adgar (Moda RT) and Paul Allen (Dinnington RC) in third.
l Peter Cocker took part in the Junior Tour of the Mendips with his Forme Bike team-mates at the weekend.
He finished in the bunch in the 65-mile first stage and did not have the legs to get into the top positions on a hilly second stage of 60-miles length, but nevertheless finished a respectable 20th out of 80 starters.
l The Wheelers’ first club time trial of the season was a two-up 10-mile event in Gorse Lane on Tuesday evening, won by youngsters Patrick Cutmore and Harry Browning from veterans Bill Harrison and John Farmer.
