LINCOLNSHIRE County Council has apparently decided to rename the familiar ‘Green Man’ pedestrian crossings as ‘Green Figure’ crossings.
However, since councillors regularly refer to the current financial climate as “difficult”, “tough” and “challenging”, may we please know just how much this barmy example of political correctness will cost Lincolnshire taxpayers?
If this lunacy is extended to street names, can we expect to see ‘Manthorpe Road’ become ‘Figurethorpe Road’? Will ‘Manchester Way’ be renamed ‘Personchester Way’?
Perhaps readers might consider nominating LCC for the next ‘FPC (Fatuous Political Correctness) Trophy’ - to be awarded, no doubt, by Harriet Harperson.
