A DRIVER was found to be more than three times over the legal alcohol limit when police stopped him in New Beacon Road, Grantham, on December 11.
Jevgenijus Stepanovas, 26, of Bridge Street, Grantham, was seen swerving his car across the central white lines of the road at 3.25am when he drove by a police car.
The officers stopped the car and spoke to Stepanovas.
They smelt alcohol and he was given a breath test, which was repeated at the police station, where he recorded 114mcgs in 100ml of breath - the legal limit is 35mcgs.
The case was adjourned while a report about Stepanovas was prepared by the probation service.
After reading the report, magistrates disqualified Stepanovas from driving for two years. As the reading was so high he was also put on a community order with two conditions - a supervision requirement and a drink impaired drivers programme. He was ordered to pay £85 costs.
