Grantham Town joint manager Gary Sucharewycz said he and Ian Robinson had taken a lot of positives from the Gingerbreads’ slender 1-0 defeat at FC United of Manchester on Saturday.
Sucharewycz said: “It was difficult to implement drastic changes. We got passion and commitment in abundance and felt for everyone at the end.”
He said it had been a difficult start to their managerial tenure with a reduced wage budget. He said it was disappointing to see players leave to go to a lower level of football: “I always wanted to play at the highest possible level and not drop a level if I could avoid it. I expect the same from my players.”
But Sucharewycz also added that some players from the league below were well able to perform in the Premier Division: “Those who have the desire and passion are certainly worth looking at.”
