HARROWBY went down to their fourth straight defeat against Raunds.

The arrows started well and should have made the most of their chances in the first half an hour, with Webb, Lee and Harper all going close.

Raunds came more into the game and tested Dury but he was equal to everything that came his way.

A minute before half time, Raunds took the lead after a great save by Drury, when the rebound was put away with Harrowby stood watching.

The second half saw harrowby on the front foot but with no luck in front of goal. The equaliser came midway through the second half, with Lee and Vorley combining for Harper to head home.

Harrowby were now looking the winners and Shaw went inches away from giving United the lead.

The game turned however after a blatant dive, with the referee pointing to the spot to the disbelief of the Harrowby players. The penalty was put away by Chard.

Harrowby still had a chance to equalise but Spence missed with a header with the goal gaping.

It was a game that Harrowby should have won as they still search for their first points of the season.

Co-manager Jay Harrison said: “We are a young side who need to learn quickly that you have to keep the ball better, and our final ball needs to be better in the final third of the pitch.

“At the other end, our defenders need to be more switched on because in this league you have got to hold players up and not touch them, because they will go down.”
