AN assault which was captured on a phone camera landed a man with 12-month conditional discharge.
Paul Short, 32, of Dysart Road, Grantham, admitted assault but denied actually hitting the victim.
Short was on his way to his sister’s house when he saw the victim.
Marie Stace, prosecuting, said he clenched his fist and caught the victim with a “glancing blow” before shouting “bang, next time”.
Giles Tyas, defending, said his client denied hitting the man on February 24.
He said the problem between the pair had been caused mainly by the victim, who was taunting him from the other side of the camera.
When Short was 14 years old he was injured in an explosion, which left him with burns, damage to his lungs and shrapnel in his head.
Mr Tyas said: “He’s quite a vulnerable individual. He stays inside a lot of the time and a blow to the head could effectively kill him.
“He’s not someone who goes looking for fights.”
Short was ordered to pay £50 towards costs.
