A MAN found with cannabis in his car was fined £265.
Kennedy McPherson of Old Road, Chesterfield, had left his car on the hard shoulder of the A1 at Barrowby when it was spotted by police.
Officers were investigating when McPherson returned. A cannabis joint and a small pot containing cannabis were found inside the car.
Stuart Wild, defending, said there was no suggestion McPherson was using the drug whilst driving.
Mr Wild said: “I don’t want the court to have the impression Mr McPherson was tootling down the road smoking spliffs. That was not the case at all.”
McPherson admitted possession of a Class B drug and was fined £265. He must also pay costs of £85 and a £15 surcharge.
Magistrates ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs.
