A MURDERER was picked up in Grantham on Saturday morning, 12 days after absconding from prison.
Mark Lee, from Grantham, was arrested by Lincolnshire Police officers in Dysart Road at about 11.15am.
Lee, 42, had walked out of HMP Sudbury, an open prison in Derbyshire, on Febuary 13, prompting a police appeal for information on his whereabouts.
Lee was convicted in 1994 for the murder of Grantham man Neil McMillan outside the Rose Castle pub in Trent Road. He stabbed him through the heart with an army bayonet during a brawl which began after Mr McMillan and members of his family were taunted for being Scottish.
A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said Lee is in custody and will be recalled to prison.
