I accept the decision from the High Court that prayers should not be a part of a council meeting.
I have always viewed prayers as a moment for reflection on the good work we undertake on behalf of our community. On many occasions it has also given us an opportunity to remember with respect any councillor that may have passed. away in the period prior to the meeting. Councillors do not have to participate.
