As a Forest fan I was obviously aware of Nigel’s huge affection for the club and his considerable investment from his personal wealth.
He got a few of the football decisions wrong, as he acknowledged but his heart was always there and I was proud to have him has as our owner and Chairman.
It is only since his death that I have learned of all of other other selfless involvements in numerous charities and other such organisations. And this is what I find truly inspiring about the way he lived his life - nothing for public showing or greed - purely to help others and share his success.
I can genuinely say this has inspired me into a way of living life, albeit on a smaller scale. He will be sorely missed by all true Reds fans. My deepest sympathies go to his family at this time.
