GRANTHAM Town returned to top spot in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One South after a 3-0 victory at home to Kidsgrove Athletic today (Saturday).
Jamie McGhee gave the Gingerbreads the lead they richly deserved just before half time.
Town continued to dominate after the break and doubled their lead through Martin Ball on 75 minutes. Ball added his second five minutes later.
Grantham defender Sam Purcicoe cleared off the line twice, but in general Kidsgrove were never much of a threat.
The Gingerbreads topped the league again after Carlton Town lost 3-2 at Brigg Town.
Grantham head the league with 63 points, three ahead of both second placed Carlton and Ilkeston FC, who won 3-1 at home to New Mills.
The Gingerbreads still have two games in hand on Carlton and three on third placed Ilkeston.
