INTERNATIONALLY renowned girls’ choir Cantamus will return to Grantham tomorrow (Saturday).

The choir has formed part of the Grantham Music Club’s programmes several times over the years, and always enjoys a large turn-out of people.

A spokesman said: “We are delighted to welcome them back once more for what is bound to be a captivating concert.”

Talented, young choristers are aged between 13 and 19, and are lucky to have had the opportunity to travel the world with the choir.

Based in Mansfield, Cantamus has been invited to play as far afield as Japan, the USA and Israel, as well as at prestigious venues in the UK and across Europe.

The choir has featured in numerous radio and TV broadcasts. Choristers have been heard on BBC Radio 2, 3 and 4, Classic FM and local radio, while TV appearances have included Songs of Praise and the Richard and Judy Show.

Engagements with professional orchestras have included the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hallé Orchestra, the Academy of Ancient Music and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

The man accompanying the choir is no stranger to Grantham. Philip Robinson is known to audiences as the conductor of Grantham Choral Society.

The concert will be held at the Priory Ruskin Academy, in Rushcliffe Road, tomorrow at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £10 (£8) and £1 for students and are available from the Guildhall Arts Centre on 01476 406158 or online at www.guildhallartscentre.com

Tickets will also be on sale at the door.
