This week’s subject knows our cartoonist Terry Shelbourne well - they were both in the same class at the Boys Central School in Grantham.
Geoff Grummitt, of Belton Lane in Grantham, has fond memories of his school days.
He said: “We’re both 82 now and we were big friends at school. They were very happy times and I wasn’t very happy when we all had to leave.”
Mr Grummitt worked for many years as a telephone engineer for Telecom.
In his younger days he was called up for his national service which saw him leaving Britain.
He said: “I spent two years in Germany. I enjoyed that too.”
He is a keen gardener and once had his own allotments. Nowadays he is happy looking after his own garden.
