Dogs and their owners went walkies on Sunday to raise money for Guide Dogs.
Owners walked with their dogs from St Peter’s Hill and along the River Witham before completing a circuit of Wyndham Park and returning to the start.
The event raised £350 for the Guide Dogs charity. Among the group were three blind walkers and their guide dogs.
The Go Walkies event was organised by the chairman and treasurer of the Grantham and Sleaford branch of the charity, Carol Brown, who said she was very pleased with the money raised. She said: “This was our first walk in Grantham and we really wanted to promote that lovely riverside walk.”
There are plans for another walk near the town in future, with plans to walk in the grounds of Belton House or Harlaxton Manor if possible. The branch would welcome any offers from land owners who are happy to grant access to dog owners and their pets. Call the charity on 0845 600 6787 or email gowalkies@guidedogs.org.uk
