Jilted Lee Prince admitted harassing his former partner and must now abide by a restraining order.
The 25-year-old, who lives in Second Avenue, Grantham, had been issued a harassment notice by Lincolnshire Police warning him to stay away from his ex-girlfriend.
However, Prince visited her friend’s home on July 30, asking to speak to his former girlfriend.
When the victim asked him to leave he stepped into the flats and tried to hug her. When the police arrived Prince was still standing outside.
Marie Stace, prosecuting, said the behaviour of Prince was never hostile or aggressive but was unwanted.
A statement from the victim was read out in which she said she feels “smothered” by Prince. She added: “I have to constantly look over my shoulder and every time I do see him my heart jumps into my mouth.”
Chris Pye-Smith, defending, said Prince now accepts the relationship is over and he too wishes to move on.
He added: “There was nothing hostile in the way he was acting towards her, it’s just that it was unwanted and he realises that now.”
Prince admitted a charge of harassment without violence and was made subject to a restraining order which will last 12 months.
Prince was fined £110. He must also pay £85 costs and a £20 surcharge.
