Eastwell Fete was held on Saturday, just outside the Vale of Belvoir, where families could enjoy a variety of activities and shows, as well as a street market and crafts fair.

The fete was held in a medievel hall in the village’s St Michael and All Angels Church. There were a wide range of attractions such as Clive Chandlers’ Punch and Judy and popular contortionist Chris Cross.

Event organiser Sue Watson said: “The fete went very well, we were down on numbers due to the bad weather forecast, but we had some fantastic entertainers and the street market always goes down well.”

The event kicked off at 11am and got off to a great start. Sue said: “The most popular act was the Punch and Judy show. We had it a few years back but the children, and adults, were truly entertained by him. He did a lot of the traditional puppet bashing and even made me laugh!”

There was a variety of music acts including brass band Grantham Tranfield Quintet. Another great act was African drumming band Omajegba who Sue said went down “jolly well”.

The event has been held annually for 20 years, adn this year raised £2,500 towards the parish chair and general running of the village church.

** Cream teas are served at the church every Sunday for anyone who wishes to attend.
