Student Abbie Viveash-Shaw will travel to the United States thanks to the Rotary Club of Grantham Kesteven.
The Rotary Club selected Abbie, 17, a students at KGGS, for its Youth Exchange Programme.
She will live with a local family in Pennsylvania for three weeks experiencing life in America. This will include visits to Washington and New York. On her return she will be accompanied by Megan Halt, one of her American hosts, giving Megan a similar chance to see the UK.
The Rotary Youth Exchange scheme first took place in 1929. Today there are between 8,000 and 9,000 exchanges arranged each year involving students from about 80 countries.
