A YOUNG football fanatic’s dream came true at City Ground last Tuesday night.
Eight-year-old Sammy Bailey won a competition to be a Nottingham Forest mascot for the night and led his heroes out on to the pitch to face Burnley.
Allington and Sedgebrook primary school pupil Sammy met the whole team and got autographs, and had many photographs taken. The only down side was that Forest lost 2-0 as they continued their fight to escape the Championship relegation zone.
His father Tom said Sammy received free Forest kit, was able to have a shot on goal, and he was also delighted to have met his favourite player, goalkeeper Lee Camp.
Tom said: “It was a brilliant, brilliant night, apart from the score.”
