A VAN driver successfully argued to keep his licence after being caught driving at 91mph on a 60mph stretch of the A1 at Barrowby.
Peter Williams of The Naze, Essex, brought a letter to the court from his employers stating that if he lost his licence he would also lose his job. He was driving for his employers at the time of the offence.
Williams, 52, was instead told he would not be disqualified but would have six penalty points put on his licence. He must also pay a fine of £200, costs of £43 and a surcharge of £15.
