The weekend saw the men’s seconds go down six rubbers to three in the Lincolnshire League at Boston B. The team were Sam Bass, Murray Shaw, Daniel Mole, Karel Meuwissen, Kane Goswell and Mark Ottey.

In a change of fortune for the week, the Mini Reds (age eight and under) team showed the older players how to get the job done with a victory over a strong Boston A side. The team comprised Jacob and Luke Cullen, Matthew Barry and Eve Kimberley.

The men’s summer fourth team of Dale Wright, Paul Kennedy, David Todd, John Walker, Mike Roys and Mark Farmer lost 9-0 to a very strong West Bridgford. The ladies’ summer team were also defeated, albeit narrowly at home with the team of Jo Jones, Yvonne Walker, Sue Edmonds, Sue Cox, Pam Aust and Janet Ibberson.

But the men’s summer fifth won at home to Attenborough B with the team comprising Michael Cragg, Dominic Newcombe, Joe Patton, Mike Roys, Harry Larkin and David Hall. The men’s AEGON found a tougher test against Burton Waters and lost 10-2 with the team of Richard Cragg, James Drennan, Darren Taxis and Simon Cormer.

The ladies’ AEGON travelled all the way to St James in Grimsby and won a very tight match 8-4 with Lianne Tapson, Helen Povah, Megan Jones and Charlotte Palul. The Mini Orange team (nine and under) of Aaron Fleckney, Jake Gibbons, James Peace and Heidi-Louise Roberts beat Eastgate away in a tight match.

The match of the weekend saw Grantham ladies’ second team lose narrowly 10-8 to Magdala B with Elaine Maplethorpe, Tracy Hobson, Lorraine Walton, Angela Anderson and Cathy Smith and Liz Stokes.

The men’s second winter team secured promotion to Nottinghamshire Division Three with victory over Attenborough. The team were Nigel Birch, Martin Garratt, Kane Goswell, Adam Bramley, Robert Start and Colin Walton.
