Police officers pulled over a man driving erratically in Watergate, Grantham, on suspicion of drink-driving.

Vikor Vecerkevic took a road side breath test and was found to be almost twice over the drink-drive limit.

However, when he was taken to the police station he was unable to give a reading.

Rob Arthur, defending, said: “He did not blow with sufficient air volume to record a full reading. He confirms there is no medical reason why he could not have provided a specimen.”

Vecerkevic, 55, speaking through a Lithuanian interpreter, admitted failing to provide a specimen for analysis and was banned from driving for 17 months. He must also pay a fine of £270, £85 in costs and a £27 surcharge.
