TV personality Paul O’Grady visited Mars Petcare in Waltham-on-the-Wolds, the home of Pedigree, to meet workers as part of a new campaign.

O’Grady has become the ambassador for Pedigree’s ‘Feeding Brighter Futures’ campaign, which pledges to feed one million meals to dogs in re-homing centres across Britain. Pedigree is also the sponsor of the second series of his award winning ITV show Paul O’Grady: For The Love of Dogs, where he helps staff to rehome dogs at The Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.

As part of his visit, O’Grady toured the Waltham Centre for Pet Nutrition (WCPN), meeting staff, as well as the dogs and cats which are homed there. He also hosted a Q&A session with a number of Mars employees, discussing the upcoming campaign and talking about his and Pedigree’s shared passion for dogs.

Pedigree’s ‘Feeding Brighter Futures’ initiative will see dogs at re-homing centres across the country provided with the right nutrition they need through food donations from Pedigree, from wet and dry food for balanced daily meals to functional treats that help care for their teeth.

Gemma Howells, Pedigree Senior Brand Manager, said: “We were thrilled that Paul was able to come talk to the team and, of course, meet our dogs. The partnership with Paul is a natural fit, as we share a love for dogs and a passion for their wellbeing – and this was really brought to life for employees with his visit. Everyone at Waltham has been watching the new series of Paul O’Grady: For The Love of Dogs, which Pedigree is a proud sponsor of, so we were all really excited to speak to him about our shared passion for helping rescue dogs.”

The ‘Feeding Brighter Futures’ campaign has also been supported with the launch of a new television advert, which depicts the story of a rescue dog and the steps in his journey back to a home.
