Great Ponton ground out a hard fought victory over a strong Colsterworth side to clinch the Shield.
Both sides cancelled each other out in a goalless first half, with Colsterworth having more possession but unable to break down a resilient Ponton defence, and an inspired Ted Sweeney in goal .
Ponton took the initiative in the second period and Josh Crane put them ahead, smashing in an unstoppable shot. A second goal soon followed when striker Joseph De’Ath finished an excellent passing move.
The tireless Crane added his second to put make the game safe.
Colsterworth pulled a goal back but Ponton held on to ensure a famous victory .

Barrowby Lions 4
Colsterworth took the lead against the run of play but Barrowby responded through Federson. Wright put Lions in front before the break.
Lions keeper Dodwell played outfield after the break and scored twice to seal the win.
