I think it’s great that the council want to rebuild the paddling pool in Wyndham Park (Journal, May 3), but let’s get our priorities right.
When the Journal prints a letter from the Foodbank in Grantham, thanking local supermarkets for food donations and the council wants to give £40,000 to build a new paddling pool, someone, somewhere, got it all wrong.
When there are no homeless people in Grantham, no one going hungry and the only unemployed are the job centre staff, then yes, let’s spend money on paddling pools and anything else that’s needed to brighten up play areas, and redevelopment of the town, but look after people first.
