An after school club is celebrating after being graded ‘good’ in its first Ofsted report.

The Vale of Belvoir Out of School Club is based at the children’s centre on Belvoir High School’s campus in Bottesford.

The inspector said that “children are enthusiastic and motivated to learn in this good quality setting and that older children are very good role models”. The report also states that the environment is well organised and the outdoor areas allow children to have freedom to explore and be active.

The club missed out on achieving outstanding because the inspector said there was greater scope for children to use the outdoor areas, to extend their learning on nature and wildlife.

Kevin Osbourne, who co-ordinates the club, said: “Manager Tina Scott and her team have created a truly special place for children and work extremely hard to ensure that every child is happy, has fun and blossoms.”
