Denton Street Market was “buzzing”

A beautiful day brought with it a sigh of relief from organisers of the Denton Street Market following its cancellation last year due to wet weather.

The popular market on Bank Holiday Monday attracted one of the largest crowds ever drawn, and organiser Debbie Nicholls said it was “buzzing” with new traders and village stall favourites.
She added: “It seemed that after so much cold weather everyone came out to celebrate the sunshine. We had a wonderful atmosphere, a wonderful market and our thanks go to everyone who made it a success.”
Debbie predicts that the market will match or exceed its previous £9,700 record profit, money which will be divided between the church, school fund and village hall.
Maypole dancing by pupils of Denton Primary School was a highlight of the day.
