Hydropool members will meet on Monday at noon.
Winners
Bridge Club
Last week’s winners were Gaby Leigh and Jim Steele and Julie and Peter Miewski on Monday, and Gaby Leigh and Jim Steele and Charu and Sobhag Shah on Tuesday.
In the Leicestershire League, Division 1, Grantham A lost 2-10 to Clarendon, and Grantham B beat Bradgate B 9-3.
The club meets at the Sports Pavilion, Barrowby, on Monday and Tuesday, with play starting at 7.15pm. Anyone interested in playing should contact Irene Pacey (Tel: 01949 843138).
Gathering
Classic Car Club
On Wednesday, May 8, the club’s ‘Gathering of Classics’ meetings will commence at Harlaxton Sports and Social Club, from 5.30pm, when owners are invited to take along their classic vehicles.The club’s next noggin and natter meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 22, in the social club at 8pm.

Feel Good Fridays
Every Friday, between 10am and noon, qualified professionals Dr Sobhag Shah and Mr Colin Porter provide both support, and an opportunity to meet and chat with others experiencing similar emotional issues. Hospice
Bereavement Support Groups are held at St Barnabas Hospice on Barrowby Road, on Wednesdays from 1.45pm to 3.45pm and Thursdays from 7pm to 9pm. For more information ring 01522 518225.
A Ladies Lunch with the theme Flowers and Fun, will be held on Friday, May 10 at Belton Park Golf Club. National flower arranging demonstrator and horticultural auctioneer, Nick Grounds, will present a light-hearted and humorous afternoon of stories and flower arranging.
The event starts at 11.30am with welcome tea/coffee and a three-course meal will be served at 12.30pm.

A sponsored Yogathon, led by yoga teacher Stefan Cunnington, will be held at The King’s School, Brook Street, on Thursday, May 16 at 6.30pm. Registration is £5

Ladies Probus 96
President Cassie Cole, welcomed 57 members, one guest and the guest speaker to the April meeting at Belton Park Golf Club.
Two new members, Alison Arlott and Catherine Davis were presented with their handbook and badge.
Speaker Jean Townsend gave an interesting talk entitled History of the Coronation, in which she informed members about all the regalia that is used on Coronation days. She was thanked by Gloria Keasley.
Next meeting is on Thursday, May 16, when Joyce Lucas will give a talk on Privvies.

Extra walk
Ramblers
A new walk has been added to the programme. It will take place on Wednesday, starting at 10.30am from the Ropsley Fox, covering aroundthree miles, at a leisurely pace with the option of a lunch/drink in the pub afterwards.

Dogs in action
Rotary Clubs
The Rotary Clubs of Grantham will host A Night With the Dogs at the Jubilee Life Centre, St Catherine’s Road, on Monday, from 5.30pm.
Dogs from the organisation Canine Partners, will demonstrate how they can help their disabled partners enjoy greater independence by performing every day tasks such as loading the washing machine and assisting with dressing and undressing.
Tickets are £2.50 and children are admitted free. Refreshments will be available.

At their recent meeting, St Anne’s Thursday Club members were honoured to receive a visit by Queen Victoria (in the guise of Betty Elmer), who spoke about her life before and after she became Queen of England and met and married her beloved Albert.
