A Neighbourhood Watch Association is looking for more members.

The Grantham and District association is keen to involve more people and get them involved in its actitivties.

Chairman Helen Bill said: “We know there are many people that are interested in and who support their communities. This is often through charitable works, through engagement with various faith organisations and contributing to fundraising for deserving causes. But have you thought about your local Neighbourhood Watch committee?

“It’s a very rewarding way to contribute to improving things but we do need more support. There are only four meetings a year. In addition to that people do as much or as little as they want. We like to try to organise an annual event and are currently working on an exciting project involving young children; helping them to be responsible, respectful and caring for others in their community.

“We have good links with the local police and had a very interesting talk from two enthusiastic police cadets at our last meeting, and we are a really friendly bunch.”

The association’s spring meeting is on Monday, April 29, at Walton Girls’ High school, Kitty Briggs Lane, Grantham, at 7pm.

All co-ordinators and members are invited to attend as well as potential new members.

For more details call Helen Bill on 01476 861399.
