Police are urging residents in Grantham to lock their doors and windows after a series of sneak-in burglaries.

Over the last couple of weeks there have been two incidents in Barrowby Road and one in Swinegate. Offenders have got in through unlocked doors and windows during the evening and stolen items including X-boxes, laptops, digital cameras, Ipads and phones.

Police are urging the public to lock doors and windows before they go to bed. With good weather forecast for the weekend, they are also urging people to consider their security during the day and to keep downstairs doors and windows locked if they are in another part of the house, or the garden for prolonged periods of time. Thieves target residential areas in the summer, looking for opportunities.

If you have any information on these burglaries, or where the stolen property may be being sold on, contact DI Pete Grayson at Lincoln CID via the non emergency 101 number.

Or give information on criminals to independent charity, Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
