A new intiative has launched with the aim of bringing trade into Grantham Market.
Businesses which are not existing traders on the Saturday market are invited to give it a try for just £10 on the May 18 market.
The initiative by South Kesteven District Council is part of the national ‘Love Your Market’ campaign, and is also being run on markets in Stamford and Bourne.
Leader of the council Linda Neal said: “Businesses who could take advantage of the offer could be new ones or long established ones looking for new customers.
“The only thing we ask is that public liability insurance is in force and food traders must hold relevant food hygiene certificates.”
There are 15 stalls available on Grantham’s market, compared to five in Stamford and four in Bourne.
Allocations will be made on a first-come-first-served basis and preference will be given to first-time traders and those who offer something unique or unusual.
Coun Neal said: “We are making the events really special. We are inviting the stallholders to dress themselves and their stall in pink and we will give a free stall to the winner.
“There will also be a treasure hunt in Grantham and Stamford when youngsters will collect letters from stalls which will form a word that will direct them to the prize.”
