A member of staff at B&M Bargains in Grantham proposed to his girlfriend in the store this afternoon, with a little help from friends and co-workers.
Romantic Patrick Woolley, 20, of Kestrel Court in Grantham popped the question to 18-year-old Mollie Hyde, also of Kestrel Court, in the High Street store just after 2pm today (April 11).
Mollie had to follow clues which led her across the town from the College to Wyndham Park and onto a variety of town centre shops before finishing up in B&M Bargains.
Patrick said: “I had it planned for about a week. We were all talking about it then all got together and worked out what we were going to do and printed off all the letters.
“Claire was going round with her all day, letting me know when she was going to be here, then we all hid and waited.
“It all started at the college at 11am so it’s taken most of the day!”
Some people might think being proposed to in B&M Bargains is not the most romantic of gestures but with gifts and clues along the way, Mollie was delighted with the proposal.
She said: “I was sent on a wild goose chase. It was very special.”
