Grantham Tennis Club “minis” all won through to the finals of the Nottinghamshire Mini League which were held at Nottingham Tennis Centre on Saturday.

With new kit sponsorship from Grantham business KBR Gas Services, the eight-and-under mini Reds lost to the eventual winners in the first round, but then beat Caunton Tennis Club to finish third.

The mini Oranges (nine-and-under) and Greens (10-and-under) played round robin competitions and both finished in third position.

Grantham performance coach Richard Surtees thanked Klaus at KBR for the team sweatshirts and said the team looked good and played fantastically well. Richard said: “This is the first year that Grantham have had all mini tennis teams get through to the finals of the Nottinghamshire league.

“This is a great achievement which will be enhanced with our indoor tennis club development, as our players have had lots of tennis cancelled over the last few months due to the weather.”
