Great Ponton 3

Clayton 3

A strong start by Ponton was cancelled out when Clayton took an early lead.

A strong run and cross by Will Barron finished with an Ian Goode volley to level for Ponton.

David Olalere then headed well from a Goode corner kick to put Ponton in front at half time.

After the break, Clayton scored twice to retake the lead, but Ponton continued to work hard and a well-worked move was finished off by Will Barron to earn Ponton a share of the points.

Poton MoM: Jack Hutchinson, David Olalere and Ian Goode.

Ponton: Cook, Bradley, Hutchinson, O’Leary, Allen, Chambers, Copley, Rawding, Goode, Barron, Olalere, Smith.

Barrowby 2

Nettleham 5

Barrowby’s six-game unbeaten run came to an end on Sunday at Lowfields.

The home side started the brighter and were soon in front when Oliver Hayward sent Oliver Reid clear through on goal. However Nettleham responded with an equaliser almost immediately.

Hayward again delivered a ball over the top for Reid to put Barrowby back in front. But on the stroke of half time, the visitors drew level a second time.

A controversial penalty gave Nettleham the lead after the break and they went on to score twice more.

Man-of-the-match Kyle Evans never stopped battling.

Barrowby: Asplen, K. Evans, Cardoso, Wingad, Hollingworth, Page, Hayward, R. Evans, Scott, Croke, Reid.
