GOLF: Hardy Belton Park ladies contest monthly competition

A smaller than normal field of players contested the February Stableford due to dreadful winter weather conditions.

The hardy souls who did venture out to play the monthly competition saw Annette Fordham triumph in Silver Division with 35 points. Shelley McClelland was second with 33 points and Ann Shaw (31) was third.

Bronze Division was won by Lisa White with 32 points. Judith Potter was runner-up on 30 and lady captain Diane Dixon managed to take third with a lowly 28 points.

BELTON WOODS

Belton Woods men’s Sunday Stableford competition was a non-qualifying event, played on par 73 The Woodside course, with a CSS of 72.

Results (net scores off full handicap): Division One (12 and below) –1 John Harrison 39, 2 Alex Scorror 38, 3 Kevan Vasey 35; Division Two (13 and above) – 1 Peter Stothard 38, 2 Simon Bishop 36, 3 John Firth 36.

SUDBROOK MOOR

A 36-point stableford card maintained Amanda Roberts’ lead in the Tuesday Ladies’ Eclectic, ahead of Sue Chambers.

Pat Bartlett returned 32 points, with Sue and Joan Doughty carding 26.

l Seniors Harry Cruickshank and Ken Wingad returned 42 and 41 points respectively to win Thursday roll-ups.

Ken Jameson (38) and Maurice Green (36) enjoyed runners-up prizes in Category 3.

In Category 4, Harry Cutmore (42), David Leslie (39), Andy Milner (38), Mike McHugh (38), Steve Squires (39) and Graham Buxton (39) have appeared in top spots in two consecutive qualifiers.

The Winter Eclectic is led by Pete Farmer and Alfie Kent, just ahead of the rest of the field.
